Aged 67 or over? Dental care can cost less
- From 1 January 2026, if you are 67 or older you pay 10% of the reference price for most treatments, such as fillings and prosthetics. This is called the special dental care allowance, or “tiotandvård”. The state pays the rest.
- Check-ups, X-rays and preventive care are not included in tiotandvård. For those, you can use your general dental care allowance, SEK 600 per year from age 67.
- We'll go through what applies to you at your visit.
